Sensorimotor Art Therapist
Kate Tenni
offering creative support and guidance to bring ease and wellbeing
welcome to the healing arts
Kate is a Sensorimotor Art Therapist based in Kingston, just 10 minutes out of Hobart in Tasmania. She utilises a variety of media from crayons to clay, paint, collage, charcoal, pen, ink and textiles, and sometimes even voice. Everyone experiences different challenges so sessions are individually constructed in a way that prioritises your comfort and sense of safety. Kate supports her clients to address many specific difficulties including, but not limited to, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, mood related issues and past trauma. She works with both adults and children to alleviate mental health strain, cope with life more easily, improve personal relationships, overcome feelings of isolation or “being lost”, experience more joy and connection.
In essence, Kate aims to support and guide you toward creating greater ease and wellbeing in yourself and your life.
‘ Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed, it means the damage no longer controls our lives ’

why try art therapy?
Throughout our lives art, and the arts, can offer inspiration, nourishment and support in many different ways, be it creating our own or enjoying the art of others. Making music, writing, poetry, sculpting, painting, weaving, dyeing, stitching, drawing….the options are endless.
Especially during troubled times, when we are stressed, distressed, having difficulty coping with what life throws our way, art and creative expression can be a supportive reliable companion.
We can find release for our anguish and distress.
Come to understand ourselves and our situation more fully.
Transform unhelpful established patterns of behaviour.
Find greater compassion for ourselves and others.
Reconnect with what brings us joy.
Become more sound, healthy and whole.
Art can help us to heal.
I welcome you to the Healing Arts and look forward to supporting you on your journey.
